The role involves supporting, optimizing, and managing high-performance, distributed database environments, including administering MemSQL/SingleStore clusters and troubleshooting performance issues.

Responsibilities
Install, configure, administer, and maintain MemSQL (SingleStore) databases in production and non-production environments
Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and workload analysis
Monitor database health, capacity planning, and system performance using built-in and third-party monitoring tools
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues including performance degradation, replication, and connectivity problems
Manage backups, restores, disaster recovery, and high availability setups
Work closely with application development teams to optimize SQL queries and schema design
Implement security best practices including user access, roles, and data protection
Support database upgrades, patches, and migrations
Document database standards, procedures, and operational runbooks
Participate in on-call support and incident response as required
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
Strong hands-on experience with MemSQL / SingleStore
Proven expertise in performance tuning and optimization for large-scale, high-volume databases
Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing execution plans
Experience with distributed database architectures and cluster management
Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting
Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and HA/DR strategies
Preferred
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
Experience supporting real-time analytics or high-throughput OLTP systems
Knowledge of DevOps practices and automation tools
Experience working in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated environments
