Outage Management Engineer
Swoon has an exciting long-term contract opportunity with one of the nation's largest electric utility companies, who is actively seeking an Outage Management Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting both a new build project as well as a refresh across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot the eTerra OMS platform, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
Develop, enhance, and maintain OMS processes to support business operations
Manage and support touchpoints between OMS and other GMS modules, as well as external applications
Monitor, analyze, and optimize the AMI Filtering Rules Engine to improve outage detection and response
Collaborate with IT, operations, and external vendors to resolve system issues and implement enhancements
Ensure system security, compliance, and best practices are maintained
Provide technical support and training to internal teams as needed
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in OMS administration, preferably with GE OMS (eOMS) or CGI OMS
Strong understanding of Outage Management Systems, including their role in grid operations and outage response
Experience working with GMS modules and integrating OMS with other enterprise applications
Proficiency in AMI Filtering Rules Engine technologies and related troubleshooting
Familiarity with real-time power grid operations and utility industry best practices
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
