Manager, Mechanical Engineering
Echo Power is a Professional Engineering and Project Services company that values integrity and technical excellence. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a team in designing mechanical infrastructure solutions for healthcare facilities, ensuring project compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of Mechanical Engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented team environment
Serve as technical lead on complex mechanical engineering projects, managing task delegation and resource allocation across the Mechanical Engineering team
Manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception through completion, coordinating with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, project management, and construction
Conduct detailed reviews of mechanical designs to ensure compliance with safety requirements, codes, and design standards
Present project designs and technical documentation to Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to support plan review and approval
Ensure mechanical designs meet applicable healthcare, regulatory, and client-specific requirements
Support field activities as needed to ensure constructability, quality, and successful project execution
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEE)
15+ years of relevant experience managing highly technical projects in HVAC mechanical design and mechanical system studies
5+ years of experience managing a team of Mechanical Engineers
Active Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop engineering teams
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, AHJs, and internal stakeholders in a variety of settings
Thorough knowledge of ASHRAE, MEP, and NFPA standards
Strong technical expertise in hydronic and refrigeration systems for comfort cooling, including HVAC, process cooling, boilers, heat exchangers, and related systems
Proficiency in Revit (required)
High level of professionalism, accountability, and work ethic
Ability to climb ladders and perform limited field-related physical activities as required
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
