Structural Engineer

Responsibilities
Candidate should have expert knowledge on structural principles, theories, and established methodologies sufficient to design development and modification of any offshore floating structures
Position duties include participating in the design development and resolution of engineering issues related to the structural design and analysis; advising the technical staff including engineers and designers in developing appropriate approaches to solve complex or technically difficult structural related problems and reviewing the work of the staff to assure the documentation technical accuracy
Develop and/or Review structural engineering reports and calculations in compliance with Classification and Regulatory Rules and ensuring company standards for safety are incorporated
Participate in the resolution of engineering design and analysis problems, including accurate scheduling, budget preparation and control, quality, and safety of structural designs
Participate in technical discussions with engineers, sub-contractors, and vendors to specify designs or systems necessary for an engineering project
Perform the strength and spectral fatigue analysis of the offshore structure using the finite element method according to various regulatory and class acceptance criteria
Assist in the submittal process of design packages with regulatory agencies and clients. The position may require the individual to travel internationally
Qualification
Required
B.S./ M.S. in Structural Engineering, or equivalent relevant field will be considered on a case-by-case basis
5+ years of work experience with Structural Analysis
Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
5-7 years' work experience with floating production unit contractor or drilling contractor, marine contractor/engineer or consulting engineer preferred
