2026-SUST-002-Green Infrastructure Graduate Intern
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers. They are seeking a Graduate Intern to support various facets of stormwater management work related to the NYC Green Infrastructure Program.
Environmental Services
Responsibilities
Inspections of stormwater management practices such as rain gardens, porous pavement, and subsurface practices across all boroughs
Collect field measurements and other field data
Interact with maintenance staff and contractors
Utilize analytical tools such as ArcGIS, SQL, R, and/or Python to perform statistical and spatial analyses
Produce compelling data visualizations and conduct data analysis to communicate findings
Develop a final presentation to display assignments they have been involved with while working as an intern at the DEP Interns Closing Ceremony
Qualification
Required
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college, university or law school
Preferred
Student must have at least a 2.5GPA (on a 4.0 scale) majoring in science, technology or engineering
Strong writing skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Familiarity and/or experience with computers/software
Leadership skills
Self-motivation and ability to work well with minimal supervision
