Responsibilities
Assist with day-to-day administration of Microsoft SQL Server environments, including monitoring, backups, restores, and routine maintenance
Support high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, replication, and log shipping
Monitor database performance and assist with troubleshooting performance issues using T-SQL and monitoring tools
Support Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Synapse environments under the guidance of senior team members
Assist with database security tasks including permissions, role assignments, and compliance support
Help maintain and improve ETL processes using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or related tools
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and documentation of issues and resolutions
Collaborate with application developers, analysts, and BI teams to support reporting and analytics needs
Maintain accurate documentation for environments, procedures, and runbooks
Learn and apply best practices for cloud governance, automation, and DevOps workflows
Qualification
Required
1–3 years of experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server in a production environment
Working knowledge of T-SQL, including querying, basic performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Familiarity with core DBA concepts such as backups, restores, indexing, security, and maintenance plans
Exposure to high availability or disaster recovery technologies such as Always On, replication, mirroring, or log shipping
Basic understanding of Azure data services such as Azure SQL, Managed Instance, or Synapse
Comfortable working in a ticketed support or operations environment
Strong attention to detail and interest in data quality and reliability
Preferred
Experience with SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or ETL pipelines
Exposure to Power BI, SSRS, or other reporting platforms
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Zabbix, or similar
Experience working in a managed services or 24/7 support environment
Understanding of DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, or Bitbucket
