The selected intern will assist with various financial and administrative tasks within the Agency Chief Contracting Office, including processing payments and preparing reports.
Environmental Services
Responsibilities
Assist with the processing preparations and submission of tax bills for the Agency
Process and entry of payment vouchers
Research, resolve and respond to vendor and bureau inquiries
Assist with the daily routing of payments to the Engineering Audit Office
Verify each document for accuracy
Prepare weekly reports
Maintain files
Develop a final presentation to display assignments they have been involved with while working as an intern at the DEP Interns Closing Ceremony
Qualification
Required
As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year)
Preferred
Student must be currently enrolled at a college/university at the undergraduate level majoring in accounting
Student must have at least a 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
Student must have at least a junior class standing
Capable of tracking action items and organizing materials while displaying strong analytical skills
Possess strong software skills, including competency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel spreadsheets and Power Point
Display strong communication skills, both written and oral
Leadership skills, self-motivated and ability to work well with minimal supervision
