Start in 2026 SummerSouthern Champion Tray is a company focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence. They are seeking a Production and Continuous Improvement Intern to assist operations in enhancing productivity, reducing costs, and promoting process improvements within the team.

Responsibilities
Assist operations in achieving success by supporting initiatives that improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance overall processes
Support process improvement project teams using Lean Six Sigma and A3 methodologies
Learn to identify non-value-added tasks and assist in removing waste within processes
Assist in implementing and maintaining visual management tools, such as standard work, 5S, and visual management boards to improve Team member awareness
Facilitate the collection of data to aid the team in root cause analysis
Ensure daily activities align with company goals related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost
Maintain a driven sense of urgency to achieve goals and demonstrate a passion for Continuous Improvement
Ability to connect with Team members and assist in obtaining buy-in for new changes
Provide analytical insight and evaluation of the organization's progress under supervision
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and review improvement ideas with management
Assist with projects from idea generation to execution with the goal of improving productivity
Balance multiple project tasks and meet deadlines
Work with process owners and project team members through phases of planning, implementation, and control
Work with area leaders to help ensure that processes are measured, monitored, and controlled through Standard work
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (preferably in Engineering, Operations Management, or Business)
Proficiency in MS Office applications—Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
Must have the ability to read, understand, and communicate to others topics such as company policies, employment related legal documents, company benefits, etc. and write legibly in English
Must be able to understand and speak clearly, and communicate in English
Preferred
Exposure to or coursework involving CI (Continuous Improvement) principles or lean manufacturing concepts is preferred
Spanish-speaking ability a plus, but not required
Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems is a plus
