In this role, you will design and build core UI platform systems, drive improvements in performance and reliability, and partner closely with frontend engineers to translate scaling pain points into platform solutions.

Responsibilities
Design, build, and own core UI platform systems used across all frontend surfaces
Drive improvements in reliability, performance, and latency at the platform level
Build and evolve backend-for-frontend APIs (REST/GraphQL) that serve our UI surfaces, with focus on scalability, security, and clean abstractions
Lead architecture and technical directions for improvements to real-time data streams (WebSocket/SSE)
Partner closely with frontend engineers and product teams to understand scaling pain points, and translate them into platform solutions
Serve as a technical multiplier: unblock teams, review high-impact changes, mentor other engineers across frontend and product teams
Enable developer velocity by improving local dev, builds, CI/CD, testing, release pipelines, and observability
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in software engineering
You've experienced architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
You're passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together
Preferred
You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from 10 to 100s of engineers)
You have experience with Blockchains (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum etc.)
You have experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices
You've worked with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, Postgres
You've built financial, high reliability or security systems
