Responsibilities
Drive the evolution of front-end architecture for MV2 using React and modern web technologies. Help establish front-end standards, patterns, and best practices the team can build upon
Design and implement scalable component structures, state management approaches, and reusable UI patterns
Translate UX designs, wireframes, and functional requirements into high-quality, production-ready UI code
Collaborate closely with the UX team to ensure designs are technically sound, performant, and scalable
Work with backend engineers to integrate UIs with APIs and data services
Improve existing UI code by refactoring legacy patterns and introducing modern best practices
Help define and evolve shared UI libraries, design systems, and reusable components
Identify and resolve UI performance, usability, and maintainability issues
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers in UI-related areas
Participate in code reviews, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to standards
Assist technical support and implementation teams with troubleshooting complex UI-related issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent professional experience
Six plus years' of experience in front-end or UI software engineering roles
Proven experience working on production, customer-facing web applications
Demonstrated ability to work within existing systems while driving technical improvements
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term maintainability
Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating across disciplines
A mindset focused on continuous improvement, technical quality, and user experience
Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and modern ES standards
Deep, hands-on experience with React, including hooks, component composition, and state management patterns
Experience designing scalable component architectures and reusable UI systems
Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and modern styling approaches
Strong knowledge of front-end performance optimization techniques
Familiarity with UI modernization concepts such as component reuse, separation of concerns, and incremental refactoring
Experience integrating front-end code with REST or GraphQL APIs and backend services
Understanding of front-end build tools, dependency management, and CI/CD pipelines
Experience working in Agile development environments
Preferred
Experience working with Next.js is a plus
Experience modernizing or refactoring legacy UI systems in long-lived applications is a plus
Exposure to UI testing strategies (unit, component, or end-to-end testing) is a plus
Experience with enterprise, manufacturing, or industrial software is a plus, but not required
