Technical Manager, Podcast & Audio Operations
The Wall Street Journal is looking for a proactive, seasoned audio professional to lead their audio engineering and podcast production efforts. In this role, you will oversee technical infrastructure, manage a team of audio engineers, and ensure high-quality sound production across various projects.

Responsibilities
Manage a team of staff and freelance audio engineers
Equip and staff all projects, creating production timelines to ensure every show meets its deadline
Oversee studio scheduling, hardware inventory, RSS feeds, and software ecosystems
Strategize budgets and provide recommendations for new equipment and software upgrades
Monitor audio quality across the slate, proactively resolving technical issues
Maintain and account for all studio equipment to ensure 24/7 working order
Mix, master, and edit shows, promos, and video content
Curate the WSJ music library, composing new themes, stingers, and interstitials to keep our sound fresh
Establish and evolve mix and mastering standards to maintain high production values
Partner with Apple, Spotify, and internal Product teams to ensure technical quality and timely delivery
Manage all technical training for Audio staff and lead initiatives to turn journalists into confident podcasters
Qualification
Required
8+ years of technical experience in daily podcasting or radio, ideally within a news environment
Expert proficiency in Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Premiere, and Descript, with the ability to train others
A deep interest in the Journal's core coverage areas (Business, Finance, Tech)
Proven experience in product development and launching new multimedia initiatives
