Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize production-grade ETL workflows using Python and Microsoft-based frameworks to ingest, transform, and validate large-scale structured and unstructured data
Implement schema enforcement, data validation, and quality checks to maintain integrity across diverse sources, while optimizing pipelines for performance, scalability, and fault tolerance using cloud-native and open-source patterns
Architect and manage Azure-based data solutions, including Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, and Python-accessible cloud storage, ensuring secure API and service integration
Design and deploy workflow orchestration with Azure Data Factory or Foundry for scheduling, monitoring, and automation
Build Python-based data services using Pandas, PyTorch, and other open-source frameworks for high-performance processing
Develop API endpoints and microservices to enable interoperability with analytics and ML platforms
Implement logging, monitoring, and performance tuning to ensure robust operational reliability
Partner with data scientists, analysts, and cloud architects to deliver clean, reliable data for predictive modeling and real-time dashboards
Apply data governance best practices to ensure compliance, reproducibility, and auditability across workflows
Contribute to Agile team processes, driving iterative improvements, collaborative problem-solving, and continuous enhancement of data delivery
Qualification
Required
5+ years developing and deploying advanced statistical and machine learning models or supporting data pipelines for such models
Proficient in Python (Pandas required; scikit-learn, NumPy, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and related libraries preferred) and strong SQL skills for integrating relational data
Hands-on experience in cloud environments (Azure); Microsoft Data Engineer certification advantageous
Build production-grade data pipelines and ETL workflows using Python and Microsoft technologies, including Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure SQL
Ensure data validation, schema enforcement, and quality assurance, while developing APIs within the Microsoft ecosystem
Optimize performance, implement logging and monitoring, and deploy Python-based data services at scale
Design and manage workflow orchestration with Azure Data Factory to automate, monitor, and streamline data operations
Current Public Trust Desired
Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position
Preferred
Master's, Ph.D., or equivalent professional experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with data engineering patterns for building scalable, secure systems in regulated environments
