MCI Clinical Intern

Responsibilities
Provides clinical support or treatment as defined by the level of care and service needs of the population served. Specific treatment expectations are defined by licensing and accreditation standards for each level of care and internship expectations as agreed upon between the student, school, and program. This may include diagnostic evaluations and screenings, crisis/emergency assessment and intervention, treatment planning and assessment, and individual/group/couple/and family therapy for adults, children, and/or adolescents
Engages in assessment planning, intervention and aftercare as defined by the level of care and clinical needs of the population served
Engages in clinical supervision and case consultations
Conducts standard assessment and screening tools
Participates in interdisciplinary and integrated diagnostic treatment and planning conferences
Consults with area schools, doctors/primary care, individuals, and other social service agencies, insurance providers, and hospital networks regarding clients, client services, and case management as applicable
Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed
Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations
Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements
Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors
Maintains, regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed
Qualification
Required
Has completed required practicum hours (or first year of field training) of a Masters or Doctoral level program in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, or related program
Satisfactory CORI background check
Ability to perform diagnostic and risk assessments using current accepted tools and best practices to determine appropriate level of care
Can develop and implement treatment plans which are behaviorally oriented, measurable, and appropriate for the identified level of care
