Responsibilities
Assist with field investigations, analysis of alternative solutions, and project design
Perform engineering calculations in support of design projects
Calculate construction quantities from plans and specifications to tabulate bid items and estimate construction costs
Perform AutoCAD and or MicroStation drafting support
Prepare and route project-related correspondence and record keeping
Assist with writing and editing construction specifications and technical reports
Complete other engineering-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Candidates must have at least one year of college-level course work toward a baccalaureate degree in civil engineering
Driving is an essential job function or a valid driver's license is required to support legitimate business purposes
Read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals
Respond to inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, regulatory agencies, or business community members
Effectively present information to clients and co-workers
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Prioritize special projects and daily workload to complete work promptly and efficiently
Apply mathematical concepts, such as fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Preferred
Prior work experience in civil engineering-related fields is desirable
Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge and experience are desirable but not required
Prior work experience in construction, traffic, or other civil engineering-related fields is desirable but not required
