Responsibilities

Oversee the development and implementation of youth engagement programs targeting both older youth (18-24) and younger youth (14-18)
Ensure that all programs meet the needs of diverse youth populations, providing a combination of educational, career, personal development, and life skills
Create and oversee youth development curricula that focus on building skills such as leadership, teamwork, job readiness, financial literacy, and college preparation
Develop, manage, and evaluate programming that promotes positive outcomes, including college and career readiness, skill-building workshops, internships, and mentorship programs
Coordinate efforts between program staff, community partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services
Monitor program activities and ensure alignment with organizational goals, tracking attendance, engagement, and participant outcomes
Ensure that resources, materials, and tools required for program delivery are available and properly utilized by staff
Manage the program budget, working with senior management to allocate funds effectively across different youth initiatives
Directly supervise and provide mentorship, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality service delivery
Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and one-on-one check-ins to provide guidance, track progress, and identify areas for improvement
Foster a positive and collaborative work culture that empowers staff to build meaningful relationships with youth participants and to achieve program goals
Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for the youth engagement team to improve their skills in youth engagement, program delivery, and mentorship
Organize regular training sessions on topics such as trauma-informed care, youth development best practices, and conflict resolution
Ensure that youth participants receive personalized support to achieve their academic, career, and personal goals
Oversee case management or coaching services, ensuring that youth are supported in their individual needs, including academic counseling, job preparation, personal development, and life skills
Develop strategies to engage youth effectively and motivate them to participate in programming and stay committed to their goals
Implement systems to monitor youth progress and track outcomes, including academic performance, job readiness, internships, and personal achievements
Conduct regular check-ins with youth participants to assess their needs and progress, ensuring timely intervention and support when necessary
Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, schools, employers, and service providers to offer a comprehensive support network for youth
Coordinate with partners to provide resources such as internships, scholarships, job training, and other opportunities for youth
Represent the program at community events, school meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities to raise awareness and build partnerships
Develop and implement strategies to engage families of youth participants in their development and success, recognizing the importance of family support in the youth’s journey
Facilitate workshops or events that engage families in understanding program goals and how they can support their youth
Collaborate with the evaluation team to gather data, assess program impact, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including participant outcomes, retention rates, and post-program success
Conduct surveys, focus groups, and other methods to gather feedback from participants, families, and staff to identify areas for improvement
Use feedback and data to refine and enhance programming to ensure it is meeting the evolving needs of youth participants
Stay informed about best practices in youth engagement, social services, and youth development to ensure that the program remains innovative and responsive to the needs of youth
Regularly review program processes and procedures to identify efficiencies and improvements that can be made to increase effectiveness

Required

Bachelor's degree in social work, Education, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience working with youth (ages 14-24), with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role
Proven experience in designing and managing youth programs, particularly those focused on career readiness, education, or life skills development
Experience working with diverse populations and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by youth, particularly in underprivileged communities
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with youth and stakeholders at all levels
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a commitment to meeting program objectives
Knowledge of youth development principles and the ability to apply them in program design and delivery
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines
Experience with data tracking, reporting, and evaluating program outcomes
Ability to travel locally for community outreach, employer meetings, and events
Ability to lift materials for program activities and events as needed

Preferred

Master's degree in social work, Education, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field
Relevant certifications related to youth work, case management, or program management
Bilingual
