Business Development Manager (m/w/d)

VECTOR Informatik is seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to enhance their presence in the hardware-in-the-loop and electric vehicle markets. The role involves driving strategic business development plans, building customer relationships, and collaborating with engineering teams to support product delivery and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Drive and execute strategic business development plans for assigned product line
Identifying and creating both new and add-on business opportunities with target OEMs and Tier-1s
Strategically build customer relationships from technical to executive management stakeholders
Act as the primary point of contact facilitating revenue growth targets and issue resolution
Build trusted advisor relationships by positioning the company as an innovation partner and aligning our solutions with customer strategies
Lead regular executive business reviews
Work with account management to follow opportunities through to a sale including issue resolutions, customer satisfaction, and product deliveries
Understand customer goals, challenges and requirements for Hardware-in-the-loop, Software-in-the-loop, CI/CD, vehicle networking, EV/EVSE test system design/development and medical equipment/device customers
Creation of customer presentations and technical articles, conception of webinars, participation in congresses and trade fairs and within customer organization
Work closely with product line management and customer sales teams to deliver customer-focused solutions
Ensure smooth execution of product deliveries and high customer satisfaction
Provide market and customer feedback to influence product roadmaps
Monitor automotive electronic and software technology trends (electrification, ADAS, connectivity, software-defined vehicles)
Provide intelligence on competitor offerings, customer strategies, and market shifts

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
Minimum 7–10 years in strategic automotive/electronics, in vehicle networking, test system design/development business development or sales
Successful experience with working with Automotive OEM /Tier One Suppliers and related industries
Ability to recognize, develop and propose embedded software solutions to existing or potential customers
Good understanding of the embedded software builds processes
Experience with long-cycle sales and complex solution selling
Strong understanding of automotive industry challenges (EV, ADAS, connected services, digital platforms)
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
Ability to influence and build consensus with stakeholders at all levels
Strategic mindset with execution discipline including follow up and time management
Ability to work effectively with local and global cross-functional teams
Ability to travel 20 to 40% as needed

Preferred

MBA
Knowledge of in-vehicle networking standards (CAN, CAN FD, J1939, LIN, MOST, Ethernet, AUTOSAR, etc.) and experience with Vector software tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, CAPL, VT systems)
Knowledge of C/C++/C#/Python
Knowledge of FDA & ISO regulated environments, preferably in the medical device sector
