Security Engineer

MM International, LLC is seeking a Security Engagement Engineer to collaborate with product, strategy, and engineering teams to ensure security and privacy requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves partnering with cross-functional teams, reviewing solution designs, and guiding teams on risk mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

Partner with cross-functional teams to embed security and privacy requirements into initiatives as a business enabler
Review solution designs and identify opportunities to integrate security controls early
Assign risk-based security/privacy requirements and track them through delivery (including risks and exceptions)
Participate across the full lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, and validation
Identify and help mitigate security/privacy risks; guide teams on feasible control options
Lead cost vs. risk tradeoff conversations and help teams make informed decisions
Influence product/tool selection and negotiate requirements with internal teams and vendors
Identify security trends and translate them into actionable guidance aligned to standards/frameworks
Support governance of security/privacy standards and recommend new security solutions as needed

Required

3+ years in Information Security (architecture, operations, design, engineering, or development)
Experience with security controls: design, implementation, and validation
Strong time management and ability to handle multiple engagements in parallel
Proven ability to negotiate, influence, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Broad exposure across multiple domains (e.g., data protection, IT risk, network security, app security, IAM, remote access, SecOps)
Working knowledge of security operations practices (change, incident, configuration, vulnerability management)

Preferred

Experience integrating security into agile development teams
Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST or CIS
Public cloud security architecture and solutions
Container security architecture and solutions
At least one certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA, or similar)
Big 4 consulting and/or Fortune 500 experience
Telecom/Cable industry experience
Bachelor's in CS/Cybersecurity/IT (or equivalent practical experience)
