Engineering Controls Technician - Day Shift
Florida Tile, Inc. is a company that specializes in the design, installation, programming, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic control systems. The Engineering Controls Technician will be responsible for various technical tasks, including designing control systems and training maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities
Designing, installing, programming and troubleshooting, electrical and electronic control systems and components; training and assisting maintenance personnel with control applications
Thorough knowledge of power circuit design & installation
Industrial PC applications training & experience
Troubleshoot, repair, replace & upgrade as necessary industrial pc systems
Designs and installs control systems for plant equipment
Identifies and programs PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers) according to plant process requirements
Troubleshoots faulty control systems
Trains other maintenance personnel in controller applications and use
Changes or modifies controls in accordance with changes in plant demands
Documents installation and changes in control, electrical and electronic systems including the creation of electrical schematics
Works closely with outside vendors and technical representatives on control, electrical and electronic system problems and designs
Maintains proficiency in programming languages
Practices correct safety procedures
Performs related tasks as required
Must be available to provide emergency technical assistance at night and on weekends
Other job duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of pertinent F.C.C. rules, regulations and reporting requirements
Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and equipment used in electronic equipment design, installation, testing, repair, and maintenance
Robotics experience, including robotics programming
Thorough knowledge of electrical circuit safety devices, circuits & the proper application of safety devices
Knowledge & experience with VFD's - setup & troubleshooting
Knowledge of industrial operator interface systems (touch screen applications)
Industrial networking training &/or experience
General knowledge of electrical and electronic theory
Skill in the use of electronic equipment testing devices
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematic diagrams
Ability to locate and repair defective electronic equipment
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and an accredited electronics technical school
Minimum five years' experience in design, installation, and maintenance of electronic controls
Ability to work overtime hours as needed and accept night and weekend call - in for emergency work
