Infrastructure/Computer Systems/Tools CO-OP

CAE is a global leader in simulation and training solutions, and they are seeking a junior Software Engineering/Computer Science student to support their Computer Tools, Computer Systems, and Infrastructure teams. The role involves assisting senior engineers with design, testing, documentation, and implementation, while also helping to develop and operate DevSecOps pipelines and virtualized environments.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering tasks including writing and testing software, creating software tools, updating drawings and documentation, installing and integrating software packages
Assist in the installation and configuration of physical and virtualized environments
Assist configuration of network components, such as network switches, time servers, and computers
Gather data and prepare reports, as necessary
Provide administrative and technical support to Engineering department
Assist other departments, when needed

Required

Must be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree (or higher level) college/university program majoring in an Engineering discipline, preferably Software Engineering or Computer Science and in your junior year or higher
Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products
Must be familiar with C++ and/or C# programming languages
Familiarity with DevSecOps and virtualization technologies is a plus
Familiarity with computer components and the ability to install/remove/connect components is a plus
Knowledge of network concepts, such as switching, routing, IP addresses, VLANs, etc., is a plus
Familiarity with Windows and Linux configuration a plus
Must be willing to learn new procedures and applications
Must have good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Must be detail-oriented
Must be customer service-oriented
Must have excellent communication skills
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role

Preferred

Familiarity with Python programming languages a plus
Experience with personal projects such as building computers, setting up a network, etc. a plus
