Payroll Specialist

LHH is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for a large, multi-state employee population. The role requires strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of payroll compliance, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution for over 1,000 employees.
Human Resources

Responsibilities

Process bi-weekly and/or semi-monthly payroll for 1,000+ employees , ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Maintain and audit payroll data including new hires, terminations, promotions, bonuses, and deductions
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
Manage payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, and wage adjustments
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies promptly
Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality
Partner with HR and Finance on payroll-related reporting, audits, and process improvements
Support year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing and audits

Required

Minimum 3–5 years of payroll experience processing payroll for 1,000+ employees
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage/hour compliance
Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, UKG (Kronos), Oracle, or similar
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
