Software System Engineer

Responsibilities
Play a critical role in the software architecture, design, and development of our mobile apps
Translate product strategy and customer needs into system requirements and user stories that drive design and implementation
Partner with business, clinical, and engineering leaders to deliver scalable, compliant, and effective solutions that meet clinical, regulatory, and business goals
Manage and refine system and software requirements to maintain clear traceability across design, implementation, verification, and risk management activities
Participate in architecture, design, and integration reviews to ensure proposed solutions meet functional, usability, performance, and regulatory expectations
Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of requirements management and systems-engineering processes, supporting consistency across teams and products
Lead or support process-improvement initiatives that enhance development efficiency, product quality, and cross-functional collaboration
Contribute to a knowledge-sharing and an open and collaborative work environment
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in technical, product-oriented engineering role with a strong focus on requirements engineering
Proven expertise in requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, and validation
Demonstrated ability to gather, define, and document business, software, and system requirements
Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Jama, DOORS) and version control systems
Understanding of version control and requirement traceability practices
Understanding of system architectures, including how components interact across embedded systems, mobile applications, APIs, and cloud or on-premises services
Awareness of software-quality and regulatory standards applicable to medical devices (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 14971)
Experience building and improving requirements-management frameworks and effectively using enterprise tools to support traceability and change control
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and modern software development best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or other related degree
Preferred
8+ years of experience in software, systems engineering, or technical product management roles, including exposure to regulated or safety-critical environments
Ability to critically evaluate software system designs, identify architectural trade-offs, integration risks, security implications, and performance considerations
Demonstrated ability to mentor peers, influence technical decision-making, and drive process or architecture improvements across teams
Experience in a startup, early-stage, or high-growth environment
CSPO Certified or equivalent
