Responsibilities
Manage and oversee daily operations of the Engineering Department
Plan, design, and support upgrades to the electric distribution system
Provide technical leadership for construction, maintenance, and operational projects
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, engineering standards, and local/state codes
Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies
Review engineering drawings, system studies, and project documentation
Support troubleshooting, system reliability improvements, and outage response
Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, safety, and system performance
Mentor and develop engineering staff and promote a culture of continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Strong knowledge of power systems engineering and electric distribution systems
Ability to safely and correctly use personal protective equipment (PPE) for high-voltage distribution environments
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred
Three (3) or more years of utility engineering or electric distribution experience
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
Familiarity with electrical design software and engineering tools
Knowledge of industry regulations, safety practices, and compliance standards
