Explosives Technology Infrastructure Advisor

Responsibilities

Develop, continuously update, and articulate the near and long-term strategic plan for facilities and infrastructure supporting high explosives manufacturing and testing
Integrate facility maintenance and modernization goals with the strategic objectives of Explosives Technology Operations and the broader Pantex and National Nuclear Security Administration mission
Proactively identify future infrastructure requirements based on anticipated program needs, technological advancements, and regulatory changes
Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and persuasive presentations on infrastructure-related needs, plans, and progress for internal and external stakeholders (e.g., NNSA, design agencies)
Articulate the critical link between infrastructure readiness and the successful execution of high explosives manufacturing and testing critical to delivering the nuclear weapons Program of Record
Provide expert technical advice and recommendations to the Senior Director and Directors within Explosives Technology Operations on all infrastructure-related matters
Evaluate proposed facility upgrades, new construction, and maintenance activities for their impact on high explosives operations, safety, and efficiency
Ensure all infrastructure plans and projects consider and integrate the most stringent safety, security, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements specific to high explosives operations
Advise on infrastructure implications of evolving safety standards and operational best practices of high explosives operations

Required

Bachelor's Degree with: Minimum 12 years of relevant experience. (Typical experience 15+ years.)
OR Master's Degree with: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. (Typical experience 15+ years.)
OR PhD with: Minimum 6 years of relevant experience. (Typical experience 15+ years.)
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 CFR 709

As an employee, you may be required to receive and maintain a security clearance from the United States Department of Energy in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information or matter

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in a technical field with minimum 12 years of relevant experience
Experience within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) complex or Department of Energy (DOE) facilities
Professional Engineering (PE) license or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) certification
Knowledge of federal budgeting and appropriations processes for infrastructure projects
