NEOGOV is seeking a Mechanic - Automotive - Advanced Journey/Lead to help keep Alaska moving at the Anchorage International Airport. The role involves troubleshooting, analyzing, and repairing gasoline and diesel engines, as well as performing maintenance and safety inspections on various heavy-duty equipment.

Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, analyze and repair of gasoline and diesel engines
Repairing and rebuilding drive train components
Repairing and rebuilding hydraulic systems
Diagnosis and repairing electrical system failures
Performing roadside service on equipment
Performing daily maintenance, service, and safety inspections
Maintaining shop records including work orders, parts order forms and timesheets
Qualification
Required

Copy of valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or driver's license
Candidates for this position must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations (49 CFR 1542) which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check
The successful applicant must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check as well as a comprehensive background investigation, along with a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment
This position requires the incumbent to possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) per federal regulations (49 CFR 383), to register with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse prior to performing safety sensitive duties, and to provide consent to the Employer to review driver information in accordance with 49 CFR 382
A Class A Alaska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with N-Tanker endorsement is required for this position
A conditional hire approval can be given to applicants that do not yet possess a Class A CDL. This means that the proposed appointee must successfully obtain a Class A CDL with N-Tanker endorsement within 120 days of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment
Selected candidates must comply with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy and procedures and CANNOT start work in a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) position until Management Services or designee has received confirmation of the proposed appointee passing the required Pre-Employment drug test
