Electrical Design Engineer - Deployable Solar Arrays - TeraWave

Responsibilities

Support the electrical design and analysis of solar array systems for the TeraWave LEO constellation program
Perform electrical performance characterization and testing of solar cells, strings, and modules using calibrated solar simulators
Assist in the development and validation of string layouts, voltage architecture, and electrical interfaces for solar array designs
Support design and integration of wire harnessing geometries
Conduct electrical acceptance testing
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and technicians to troubleshoot electrical issues during proto-line production
Generate and maintain electrical design documentation, test procedures, and technical reports
Assist in qualification activities for silicon solar cells, metallic interconnects, and other electrical components

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
0–2 years of relevant experience (internships and co-ops count toward experience)
Foundational understanding of photovoltaic cell and module electrical principles
Experience with electrical test equipment and instrumentation (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems)
Basic knowledge of circuit analysis and electrical system design
Proficiency with electrical circuit simulation in one or more engineering analysis tools (i.e. Spice, MATLAB/Simulink, Saber, etc.)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment with compressed development timelines

Preferred

Experience with solar cell or photovoltaic module testing and characterization
Previous internship or co-op experience in aerospace or solar energy industries
Familiarity with space environment effects on electronics, including radiation degradation and thermal cycling in LEO environments
Exposure to automated manufacturing equipment and high-volume production line environments
Experience with wire harness design and manufacturing
Experience with rapid prototyping
