InternDavidson Technologies is looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Cable Technician Intern to support their Hardware Team at the Advanced Research Center (ARC) in Huntsville, AL. This role is ideal for students interested in networking and data center operations, providing valuable experience in managing and troubleshooting network cabling and infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Work with seasoned cable and hardware technicians and learn cabling techniques
Learn to use cable testing tools and certify new and existing cable runs
Review Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) end devices connected by fiber or copper
Perform weekly and monthly preventive services on data center racks
Respond to time sensitive issues within various testing labs and data centers
Document all work by utilizing a digital ticketing system
Process and excess end-of-life hardware
Run new cables for assigned projects
Run multiple trunk cables between data centers and labs
Review and determine old fiber and copper cabling runs
Determine and validate use and function
Remove legacy cabling
Create or update inventory of all HWIL systems within one of the data centers
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship
Have knowledge/experience of copper or fiber termination
Possess an understanding of network/server rack and cabinet cabling management to include fiber and ethernet
Show strong organizational skills
Understand connectivity and troubleshooting physical layers by tracing and resolving connectivity issues
Understand cable testing tools
Be able to document cabling pathways, patch panel connections and rack elevations
The ARC Internship Program requires a U.S. Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain
