Electrical Engineering Intern
PROPWR is a company focused on engineering and operations in the power generation and energy services sector. The Electrical Engineering Intern will support these teams through technical analysis, equipment performance evaluation, and field-based learning, contributing to various engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Assist with evaluating equipment performance, utilization, and reliability across PROPWR assets
Support engineering staff with data collection, analysis, and documentation for ongoing projects
Participate in troubleshooting activities and root‑cause analysis under supervision
Review technical drawings, specifications, and operational documentation to support engineering tasks
Assist with developing or updating standard operating procedures, maintenance documentation, or technical guides
Visit active PROPWR sites to observe equipment, operations, and field workflows
Gain hands‑on understanding of power generation systems, electrical distribution, and related equipment
Shadow engineering, maintenance, and operations personnel to understand how technical decisions impact field performance
Participate in equipment inspections, testing, and data logging activities
Support the creation of engineering reports, dashboards, and visualizations related to equipment performance or project progress
Analyze operational and maintenance data to identify trends or improvement opportunities
Assist in preparing technical summaries, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders
Complete a defined engineering project aligned with a current PROPWR need
Develop structured analysis, supporting data, and technical recommendations
Present findings to PROPWR leadership at the end of the internship
Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be actively enrolled in a BS/MS in Engineering or other closely related field
Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer (late May through early August)
Able to physically work onsite in Tomball, TX
Able to work 12-hour shifts
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Has attention to detail; well organized
Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic
Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization
