The Design Drafter role involves drafting duties for an industrial Nuclear Power Station, including preparation and updating of various documentation and drawings. The position requires collaboration with other departments to produce detailed drawings and maintain drafting systems.

Responsibilities
Perform drafting duties including preparation, maintenance and updating of an industrial Nuclear Power Station documentation including Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical circuits and prints, station and standard drawings, maps, charts and graphic arts
Prepares, maintains and updates P&ID, circuit and one-line diagrams, prints and charts
Works with other department personnel to obtain and verify information needed to produce detailed drawings from designer and engineer sketches for circuit drawings and one-lines
Creates and updates drawings manually and through use of computer aided drafting system
Maintain computer aided drafting system in operational condition
Performs freehand and mechanical pencil and ink lettering for drawings, posters and prints
Retrieves and issues original drawings from records management and reproduces maps
Drafts mechanical, electrical and civil construction drawings and updates-controlled drawings from designer and field sketches
Perform other duties as requested or assigned
Qualification
Required
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity
0-2 years Applicable related experience for Associate level
3+ years of relevant experience in drafting for Drafter level
5+ years of relevant experience in drafting for Senior level
Full knowledge of drafting principles
Full knowledge of computer aided drafting
Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical or civil principles
Skills: reproduction equipment, mechanical drawing, computer graphics, verbal and written communication
Abilities: analytical and abstract thinking, problem solving, process information quickly
Skills: manual technical drawing and computer assisted drawing; verbal and written communication; use of drafting tools
Computer drafting knowledge and prior experience is desired of any applicant
Solid CADD Microstation/AutoCAD skills
Good math skills, ability to perform basic calculations, review technical documents, drawings and diagrams
Attention to detail, good organizational skills, ability to prioritize work
Good computer and keyboarding skills
Abilities: analytical thinking; process information quickly
Preferred
AS degree in Drafting is preferred
Knowledge with MICROSTATION and/or Projectwise drafting software is desired
