Portfolio Strategy and Operations Intern

Tide Rock is an unlevered buyout firm focused on acquiring companies with strong cash flow and driving their growth. The Portfolio Strategy and Operations Intern will engage in research, data analysis, and support various departments to gain insights into the M&A process and portfolio operations.

Responsibilities

Project based work across several Tide Rock departments in an informal rotational program: Integrations, FP&A, Value Creation, Diligence, Corp Dev, and Playbook
Conduct industry specific research projects to drive strategy at portfolio companies
Assist in data gathering of prospective targets, industries, and markets via secondary and primary source research
Data analysis to generate new perspectives as we integrate/manage/analyze portfolio companies
Learn and help analyze quantitative and qualitative data to uncover industry, company, and market trends
Support post-transaction integration efforts to accelerate transition and kick start growth initiatives
Help the team qualify businesses to identify their divestiture posture, ownership structure, revenue, EBITDA, actionability, and growth strategy
Support value creation team in conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis for portfolio companies across the company’s sales, marketing, operations, and finance departments
Support development and management of Tide Rock’s value creation playbook, including process design, content creation, and performance management of Tide Rock’s operational and growth initiatives
Create written materials to present to internal and external parties

Required

Currently enrolled as an active undergrad, graduate, or MBA student at an accredited university (or a recently graduate student)
Able to commit to 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with data and ambiguity
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and take ownership of deliverables
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment

Preferred

Pursuing a degree in the field of finance, accounting, entrepreneurship, economics, management, and/or general business
