This role involves managing a team of Software Engineers while also focusing on technical performance and ensuring engineering process rigor, training, and employee development.

Responsibilities
Managing a team of 12-18 engineers
Goal setting and conducting performance assessments
Ensuring engineering process rigor and training
Conducting all phases of the staffing process
Mentoring and coaching employees
Employee development and other functional management activities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years related experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, Network Engineering, System Administration, or Database Administration; Master's degree and 6 years of related experience; or a PhD and 4 years of related experience
Active Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility required at time of application
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to successfully prioritize tasks and obligations
Strong practical knowledge of Engineering Process and Management
Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate with positive outcome
Experience working with both internal and external customers and partners
Preferred
Direct supervisory experience and/or significant team leadership such as IPT or equivalent role; Functional management experience
Development experience in Java, Python, C/C++ or RHEL system administration
Process improvement experience
Breadth of software engineering lifecycle experience on large or small programs
Strong understanding of agile principles as well as other lean methodologies
Experience working with system requirements and architecture
Experience with DoD programs and processes
