They are seeking a Planning & Community Development Summer Intern to assist with daily operations, special projects, and technical research, providing hands-on experience in urban planning and community development.

Responsibilities

Assist with rezoning and annexation cases and support attainable housing and community development initiatives

Conduct data analysis and create maps and presentations using GIS software

Assist with permitting and plan review processes to understand the lifecycle of municipal development

Participate in site visits and field observations to see planning projects in action

Provide general planning support, including research, documentation, and report preparation

Support other planning-related and local government activities as assigned to meet departmental needs

Required

Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Public Administration, Architecture, Urban Studies, Environmental Science, GIS, or a related field

Interest in local government and community development

Preferred

Familiarity with ArcGIS or other GIS software
