Responsibilities
Create customer-facing security documentation in collaboration with subject matter experts, translating complex technical information into clear and accessible content
Develop content in formats appropriate to the need, which may include white papers, Q&A content, knowledge articles, or other documentation
Ensure all content follows ServiceNow style, tone, and brand guidelines
Drive on-time delivery of documentation to support business needs
Build productive relationships with security subject matter experts; take a consultative approach to ensure messaging is accurate and consumable
Set expectations with stakeholders on project timelines, roles, and responsibilities
Coordinate with STAR team members (editor, knowledge manager, other writers) to ensure content aligns with the broader security content ecosystem
Leverage AI tools to increase efficiency while maintaining accuracy and quality standards
Ensure documentation is consistent with ServiceNow's existing security messaging and optimized for discoverability
Qualification
Required
7+ years in technical writing, security documentation, or a relevant role
Experience translating complex technical or security concepts into clear, audience-appropriate content
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams
Writing samples required upon application
Self-directed and able to manage your workload independently with minimal oversight
A strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with a remote, global team
Detail-oriented with the ability to identify inconsistencies and flag potential issues
Flexible and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment
A good listener who can take direction and execute with minimal follow-up
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field (will consider equivalent work experience)
Experience in cloud security, compliance, or a related technical domain
Familiarity with AI writing tools and their application in content workflows
