Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines and data models using SQL and Python
Develop AWS‑native data workflows leveraging S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, RDS, and Step Functions
Create clean, reusable datasets for analytics and BI; deliver dashboards in Tableau or Power BI
Build lightweight tools/portals to collect and validate survey and operational data; implement filtering, aggregation, and QA checks
Own schema design (star/snowflake), performance tuning, and cost‑aware data warehousing
Apply cloud data‑security best practices (IAM roles, KMS encryption, VPC endpoints) and ensure HIPAA compliance
Partner with stakeholders to assess gaps, prioritize improvements, and shape the data roadmap; execute quick‑turn deliverables in a fast, evolving environment
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer
2+ years of healthcare industry experience
Understanding of healthcare data (payer/provider); HIPAA compliance
Strong experience with SQL, Python, ELT/ETL, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing
Proficiency with Tableau or Power BI; Excel for initial data wrangling
Knowledge of cloud security (IAM, KMS, VPC endpoints) and data‑governance best practices
Preferred
Highly preferred knowledge of AWS data ecosystem: S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, RDS, Step Functions. Experience with Azure acceptable with exposure to AWS and/or working with the Azure stack that maps to desired AWS tools
