United Equipment Accessories (UEA) is seeking a Quality Technician to perform inspection processes and utilize testing equipment to ensure products meet quality standards. Responsibilities

Perform a variety of inspection processes and utilize testing equipment to validate all work produced meets UEA quality standards and customer specifications; document inspection findings and maintain up-to-date quality incident logs for timely communication and problem-resolution of internal and external non-conformities
Work with product returns and warranty claims to identify defects, trouble shoot failures, and assist with the root cause analysis process including onsite customer repairs and part installation as requested
Other projects and duties as assigned by the Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager
Follow rules and processes as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Safety and Quality Manuals as to conduct and performance standards expected of all employees
Maintain a positive work attitude that reflects the UEA Core Values (Care, Hardworking/Dedicated, Creative Problem Solver and Knowledge Seeker)
Responsible for familiarization with all United Equipment Accessories’ products and assembly specifications
Utilize work instructions and computer software to validate product conformity, record non-conformities, maintain logs and other quality records, track job details, and record labor and attendance information
Use a variety of inspection methods and equipment including visual checks, force and movement tests, and precision measurement tools to validate outgoing products and returns meet quality standards and product specifications; reject and record non-conformities, failures or deviances as required
Ensure accuracy in taking measurement by managing the calibration of precision measurement tools according to established critical control points and maintain accurate logs for timely recalibration or tool replacement
Maintain appropriate quality records including document internal and external non-conformities and maintain up-to-date quality incident logs to track issues that negatively impact operations while communicating pertinent issues to appropriate stakeholders
Maintain a tidy work area and clean equipment
Work individually or collaborate with other employees to complete tasks as necessary or requested
Use tact and discretion to communicate problems and clearly explain findings, continually striving to motivate others to improve quality of work
Exercise superior attention to detail and observation while performing the required methodical approach to inspection process
Consistently and effectively identify and manage responsibilities completing tasks accurately, timely and within budgeted labor hours and communicate information or questions to appropriate people
Demonstrate collaborative working relationships, good judgment, reasoning and professional conduct in all business interactions
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for the position and situation
Demonstrate physical, regular, and punctual attendance and communicate scheduled and unscheduled absences in advance
Perform other duties as directed by the Quality Assurance Specialist

Required

High school diploma or equivalent is required
A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a mechanical/electrical component assembly environment preferred
Strong communication skills are essential to effectively collect and disseminate information with employees at all levels of the organization
Basic computer knowledge is required
Great attention to detail and problem solving ability are necessary to recognize critical characteristics, identify defects, and trouble shoot product non-conformities or failures
Must be able to follow blue prints, verbal and written work instructions and effectively work under time constraints
Regularly required to stand for extended periods, sit, walk, bend, kneel, and talk
Use of hands and arms is necessary to reach, grab, and handle parts; as well as pushing and pulling to execute inspection methods
Possess specific vision abilities including near vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus (with corrective lenses if necessary), and ability to distinguish color to perform the requirements of the position
The ability to hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficiently to understand and comprehend work instructions and individual one-on-one conversations is also necessary
Lifting up to 50 lbs. is required
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently and possess the ability to communicate clearly on technical and business levels while maintaining professional conduct

Preferred

A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a mechanical/electrical component assembly environment preferred
