Analyst, Energy Management Commodities Procurement & Scheduling
Con Edison is seeking an Analyst to manage the financial and operational performance of battery energy storage assets. The role involves overseeing Profit & Loss for battery assets, ensuring optimal market participation, and developing strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities
Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) for battery energy storage assets, including revenue forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis
Monitor NYISO and other relevant market operations, analyze price signals, and optimize dispatch strategies to maximize profitability
Ensure accurate billing for energy transactions and auxiliary loads; reconcile discrepancies and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
Track and enforce contractual obligations related to battery assets, including performance guarantees, cycling limits, and reporting requirements
Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports; identify revenue optimization opportunities and support regulatory filings
Work closely with operations, finance, and regulatory teams to align asset performance with company objectives and compliance standards
Respond to ad-hoc data requests and analysis as needed
Ensure compliance with company safety, health, and environmental policies
Assess market, operational, and contractual risks; develop mitigation strategies to protect asset profitability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field and 2 years full-time related work experience
Must be detail oriented, have strong analytical and computer skills (Microsoft Office products Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must have the ability to make sound business decisions
Driver's License
Preferred
One year of utility, energy industry or operational experience
Demonstrated experience coding in at least one of Python, SQL, or R
Power Generation, Steam Operations, Gas Control, Gas Engineering and/or System and Transmission Operations
ISO-administered energy, capacity, TCCs, ISO Billing
Physical and/or financial commodities trading
Purchasing natural gas and pipeline scheduling
Optimizing supply, pipeline and storage assets
Developing and troubleshooting worksheet applications and models, performing economic analysis, developing forecasts and conducting energy related research
Energy Policy and Regulatory matters
Contract administration (ISDA, EEI, NAESB)
