AAAS is seeking a paid intern to join their Research & Data Analytics Department this summer. The intern will support real-world survey and data projects, primarily focusing on updating and analyzing an internal employee survey and assisting with data management for the Inclusivity for Excellence Report.

Responsibilities

Designing/editing and fielding an online survey
Analyzing data in Power BI (comparing against previous survey results)
Reporting out survey results to the RDA and IT teams
Tracking, reviewing and preparing data files for the IE Report
Support projects using the new AWS ETL Platform
Other duties as assigned

Required

Currently enrolled in a university or college program at the undergraduate, graduate, or PhD level. Recent graduates in the past year may be considered
Coursework in social science, data science, business administration, mathematics, or statistics
Familiar with any online survey tool (e.g., Survey Monkey or Alchemer)
Exposure to statistical software and/or programming languages (e.g., R, SPSS, Python)
Comfortable with Excel and PowerPoint (or Canva)
Detail-oriented
Organized
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable with both collaborative and independent work

Preferred

Exposure to data visualization software (e.g., Power BI or Google Data Studio) a plus
Familiarity with other data management tools (e.g., SQL or PySpark) a plus
