Senior Systems Software Engineer

The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Systems Software Engineer to join the P-8 Missions System Software Engineering team in Kent, Washington. Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the design, architecture, development, and maintenance of P-8 Operating Systems products including the Virtual Integration Platform (VIP) and P-8 Trainer variants
Lead and oversee the design, architecture, prototyping, and development of mission computing and software modernization
Partner with software and hardware stakeholders to inform system definition and oversees translation of system-level requirements into software requirements to meet Navy customer capability requests
Provide cross-team architecture level guidance for P-8 Mission Systems Software including estimation of new business and opportunities
Mentor junior engineers and provide cross-training within the team by implementing and documenting standard design, test, and execution processes and procedures for the OS and VIPs

Required

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
10+ years of experience with C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada
Experience with requirements analysis, management, and decomposition
Experience with standard engineering tools such as MBSE/PLE, Cameo, DOORS and common collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Git)
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Preferred

20+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Experience with mission systems, avionics, command & control architectures, embedded systems, sensor systems, or related defense/space programs
Prior work on software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, flight test, or distributed system integration
