They are seeking a motivated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to support documentation, compliance, and program activities at their Michigan City facility, with a focus on preparing for an OSHA VPP audit.

Responsibilities
Combine medical records including injuries, medical clearances, and hearing tests into one consolidated file for each employee
Remove and organize files for employees no longer with HGAP
Prepare and send appropriate records to Iron Mountain for long-term storage
Assist in organizing program documents and records such as training logs, injury reports, inspection documentation, and program files
Move and centralize documents into a secure and accessible location for OSHA auditors
Support general audit readiness tasks leading up to the August VPP audit
Gain exposure to Chemical Safety, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Medical Records processes
Support broader EHS initiatives as assigned
Qualification
Required
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Interest or experience in Environmental, Health & Safety
Ability to work with confidential files and maintain accuracy
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Clear and professional communication
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Willingness to learn and support multiple aspects of the EHS program
Must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. college/university
Minimum 2.5 or above GPA preferred
Must be able to complete internship from May–August 2026
Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Progress - Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline
Undergraduate students may be considered
