Responsibilities

Apply standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks
Participate with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs
Assist with development of analytical tools including supporting technical and business objectives
Training and mentorship will be provided

Required

Current senior in high school and currently enrolled at James Clemens High school's Internship class, also called 'Career Pathway Project'
Availability to work part-time (12 to 20 hours per week) for 8 to 12 weeks between February 9 and May 15, 2025
Minimum weighted GPA 4.0 or higher
Familiarity with one or more programming languages (examples: C, C++, JAVA, Fortran, python, MATLAB)
Familiarity with CAD (e.g., Fusion360) or other computer-aided design software
Has completed Calculus AB or higher
This position requires eligibility to work in the U.S. and to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must work well in a team environment
Must possess strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational need
Interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal or external organizations

Preferred

Weighted GPA 4.5 or higher
Has completed Calculus BC and AP Statistics
Research, laboratory, industry work, or internship experience in an aerospace-related position
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate long-term career objectives consistent with The Aerospace Corporation mission
