Responsibilities
Lead DB2 database redesign and re-architecture for scalability, performance, and resilience
Design and optimize high-volume data ingestion frameworks (hyper loaders, bulk load utilities, parallel loaders)
Drive query, index, tablespace, and partitioning optimization for large datasets
Tune DB2 for high concurrency, low latency, and batch + online workloads
Optimize DB2 utilities (LOAD, REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY) for enterprise-scale environments
Perform capacity planning, workload analysis, and performance benchmarking
Automate DB operations using UNIX shell scripting and scheduling tools
Qualification
Required
7+ years of hands-on DB2 experience
Deep expertise in UNIX environments & scripting
Proven experience with high-volume DB2 loaders / hyper loaders
Strong DB2 performance tuning skills (SQL tuning, indexing strategies, access paths)
Expertise in tablespace design, partitioning, compression, and clustering
Advanced knowledge of DB2 utilities and internals
Strong shell scripting (ksh/bash) for automation and monitoring
