Administrative Coordinator
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their Veterinary Resources program as an Administrative Coordinator. This position will support exceptional animal care through expert administrative coordination, including managing financial operations, procurement, and human resources tasks.

Responsibilities
Provides daily support of financial (FIN), procurement (SSAS) and human resources (HR) for an administrative division or department. Provide review of human resource and financial documents and reports. Including payroll processing and human resource transactions; procurement; and financial budgeting, Coordinates unit's budget
Adheres to policy documents including standard operation procedures, presentations, and other procedural information
Performs daily administrative duties related to financial operations, procurement, and human resources, including payroll processing, human resource transactions, purchase orders, and financial budgeting
Receives and directs incoming calls and visitors, responds to general inquiries regarding Department operations, including management of Departmental electronic mailbox
Schedules and coordinates meetings, meeting rooms, and appointments
Prepares, formats, updates, and proofreads documents
Prepares and revises correspondence, charts, forms, and other material from copy or notes created by others
Takes notes and prepares meeting minutes
Adheres to policy documents including standard operation procedures, presentations, and other procedural information
Assists Attending Veterinarian and Director with administrative duties related to financial operations, procurement, and human resources
Identifies and assists in the development of future business process changes to administrative unit. Ensures effective use of resources within department
Manages supply and equipment inventories and provides administrative assistance in support of inventories not directly managed
Performs data entry into various systems
Supports purchasing and travel management for department, including procurement card purchases, initiating purchase requisitions, and assisting with travel arrangements and reimbursements. Enters travel requests and expense reports in Concur
Performs accounts receivable and payable activities in accordance with Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP), ensuring unit budget balances
Responds to inquiries with accurate and policy-supported information. Contacts appropriate resources when unable to find factual support for answers
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, accounting, human resources, or other related field
Two (2) years of related experience in use and analysis of financial, administrative, procurement, or human resources management
Knowledge of position requirements
Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws
Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems
Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts
Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently
