The role involves providing expert-level support for VMWare infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security of mission-critical systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support integration and test activities.

Responsibilities
Provide VMWare infrastructure support, including optimization, troubleshooting, and documentation for the GMI Platform Cloud and related environments
Support operations, integration, and test (I&T) activities, ensuring system reliability and performance
Perform system upgrades, patch management, and configuration of VMWare environments
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve technical issues and implement best practices
Develop and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure and operational procedures
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related issues
Ensure compliance with security and operational standards
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
Demonstrated experience in VMWare infrastructure support, optimization, and troubleshooting
Experience with system integration, test, and operations in a mission-critical environment
Strong documentation skills
Experience with both Windows and Linux environments
Familiarity with security and compliance requirements for infrastructure systems
Ability to work onsite and obtain/maintain a security clearance as required
Preferred
VMWare certification (e.g., VCP, VCAP)
Experience with cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments
Experience supporting government or defense programs
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
Familiarity with ITIL or similar frameworks
