Test Cell Engineering Technician

Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues related to generator performance within test cells; provide repair support as needed
Configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot data acquisition systems to ensure accurate test measurements
Contribute to the design and procurement of test fixtures and adapters for exhaust, diesel and gaseous fuel, coolant, and battery connections on a diverse range of generator models
Maintain test equipment such as load leads, fuel lines, and sensor cutout fixtures
Collaborate with the test cell team to facilitate efficient and accurate production and customer witness tests including supporting mechanical and electrical connections as well as data acquisition equipment
Work cross-functionally with departments including manufacturing engineering, quality, safety, maintenance, and facilities to align with test cell objectives
Promote and uphold safety standards and 5S workplace organization practices to meet or exceed operational expectations
Execute tasks and responsibilities as directed by the test cell manager
Comply with all established safety and quality policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Two-year technical degree and 5+ years' experience working as a generator technician preferred or comparable experience in a similar technician role
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electromechanical systems with the ability to diagnose root cause and resolution
Experience in reading and analyzing schematics and technical documentation
Comfort working in an industrial setting around high voltage and rotating equipment
Strong speaking, writing, and organizational skills to effectively convey information to engineers, union testers, and production management are required
Must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Preferred
Experience working on alternators and/or internal combustion engines preferred
PC hardware and software knowledge in relation to ecu programming, voltage regulation, and other generator subsystems is preferred
Experience with data acquisition systems such as Dewesoft is preferred
