Specialist, Logistics Training Coordinator

Scout Motors is carrying forward the heritage of an iconic American vehicle and is seeking a Specialist, Logistics Training Coordinator. This role is responsible for developing and managing training programs and operational standards in a logistics environment, ensuring personnel are properly trained in procedures and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver onboarding and ongoing training programs for logistics team members (e.g, material handlers, line feeders, Team leaders)
Maintain and update training material, SOPs, and visual aids in alignment with operational changes
Conduct skills assessments and maintain training records for compliance and audit readiness
Facilities cross-training to support workforce flexibility and coverage
Maintain the Profi-Room as a central hub for operational excellence, including 5’s standards, visual management boards, KPI’s. and process maps
Ensure all visual tools are current and aligned with production and logistics goals
Support daily start-of-shift meetings, performance reviews, and problem-solving session in the Profi-Room
Collaborate with supervisors and team leaders to identify training gaps and improvements opportunities
Support kaizen activities and continuous improvement workshops
Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action planning related to logistics errors or inefficiencies
Ensure training programs meet internal and external compliance standards (e.g, ISO, OSHA)
Promote a culture of safety and quality through training and awareness initiatives

Required

At least 4 years of experience in automotive manufacturing logistics, focusing on material handling, inventory management, or assembly in-house logistics line feeding in an automotive manufacturing industry
Proven ability to lead logistics teams in a fast-paced OEM environment
Experience with inventory management, including tracking materials, managing stock levels, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of warehouse materials
Experience with process improvement initiatives, particularly in logistics or warehousing, using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma to enhance operational efficiency
Ability to train, supervise, and motivate logistics personnel
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP), and other relevant logistics software for inventory tracking and reporting
Familiarity with the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems
Strong analytical skills to identify inefficiencies, troubleshoot operational problems, and implement solutions
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to coordinate effectively with team members, other departments, and external partners
Capable of managing logistics operations and warehouse space efficiently
High accuracy in inventory and material handling
Ability to anticipate potential issues and take proactive steps to address them before they impact operations
Ability to adapt to changes in the production environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety guidelines

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree: A degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field is preferred. An equivalent amount of experience may be considered
Certifications in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma, Lean) are a plus
