The N.C. Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC. They are seeking an Applications Systems Analyst I to join their Software Quality Assurance team, providing hands-on training and contributing to reliable and accessible systems for NC citizens.

Responsibilities

Proactively execute manual and automated test cases to validate system functionality, performance, security, and usability of state systems
Document test results, defects, and observations using approved tracking and reporting systems
Collaborate with SQA analysts and project teams to resolve defects and improve system quality
Participate in system, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing activities in accordance with state policies and standards
Maintain accurate and compliant testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports
Learn and apply state IT policies, security guidelines, accessibility standards, and quality assurance methodologies
Provide timely and proactive status updates and communicate testing progress, risks, and recommendations to supervisors, and stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in business application consulting or development
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Proactively execute manual and automated test cases to validate system functionality, performance, security, and usability of state systems
Document test results, defects, and observations using approved tracking and reporting systems

Preferred

Basic understanding of Software Quality Assurance (SQA), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Test Automation Concepts and Best Practices
Ability to adapt to and champion emerging SQA standards, best practices, and Quality Management Tool Sets
Competencies in the Microsoft 365 Tool Set
