Responsibilities
Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) across development, test, and production
Perform performance tuning , query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis
Implement and manage HA/DR solutions (Always On Availability Groups, clustering, log shipping, replication)
Handle database upgrades, migrations, patching, and capacity planning
Ensure database security , access controls, encryption, and compliance standards
Develop automation scripts using PowerShell
Monitor SQL environments using tools such as SQL Sentry, Redgate, or SolarWinds DPA
Troubleshoot complex issues including blocking, deadlocks, latency, and storage bottlenecks
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams
Qualification
Required
8+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA / Database Engineering experience
Strong expertise in T-SQL, performance tuning, and HA/DR
Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instance, or AWS RDS for SQL Server
Solid knowledge of Windows Server, networking, and storage
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
