Responsibilities

Run samples received from the Operating areas according to SOPs and communicate with area, from which any sample was received, on any test that is not within SOC's, to help area minimize quantity of product out of SOC's
Operate analytical equipment for process control analysis. Troubleshoot equipment operations and analyses when data is suspect
Operate gas chromatography, FTIR, HPLC, and mass spectrometer equipment for assay and trace analysis components as well as wet chemistry titrations
Enter samples and data into the LIMS system and retrieve data as required
Maintain daily equipment checks and repairs. Make sure equipment is working properly
Maintain lab parts/supplies inventory
Perform and maintain all laboratory equipment routine standard calibrations. Work with vendors to perform required equipment calibrations
Keep lab equipment properly organized (5S)
Keep utilization of analytical metrics (KPIs) up to date and visible
Monitor Standard sample rolls when placed in service for use in lab
Check for missing results and samples
Check for non-standard results, make sure we get isolation samples and rechecks
Maintain and review Lab procedures and forms as needed
Monitor monthly inventory list for Shear Glass and Pummel Glass
Maintain the inventory of reagents, chemicals and supplies used in lab
Create purchase requisitions for all lab supplies
Perform backup as needed for other team members

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Possess a mechanical aptitude
Must be willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift including some weekends and holidays
Must be willing and able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs

Preferred

Experience working with chemicals following stringent safety protocols and procedures
Experience working with gas chromatography, FTIR, HPLC, and mass spectrometer equipment
Minimum of 2 years prior work experience in a lab environment
