Post Doctoral Fellow - Biomedical Engineering

University of Houston is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with expertise in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field to join a multidisciplinary research program. Responsibilities

Design, conduct, and analyze experiments focused on molecular, biochemical, and cellular mechanisms of retinal degeneration associated with Usher Syndrome Type 2A
Utilize knock-in mouse models to evaluate disease progression and therapeutic outcomes
Perform advanced laboratory techniques, including gene expression analysis, protein assays, and imaging
Prepare manuscripts and present findings at scientific meetings
Support the training of undergraduate students in experimental design and data analysis

Required

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field

Preferred

Experience with mouse models, particularly knock-in or transgenic lines
Background in retinal biology or neurodegeneration research
Knowledge in cloning and genomics techniques
