Senior LevelUniversity of Houston is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with expertise in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field to join a multidisciplinary research program. The successful candidate will investigate the mechanisms of visual and hearing loss associated with Usher Syndrome Type 2A using knock-in mouse models and contribute to the design and development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Responsibilities
Design, conduct, and analyze experiments focused on molecular, biochemical, and cellular mechanisms of retinal degeneration associated with Usher Syndrome Type 2A
Utilize knock-in mouse models to evaluate disease progression and therapeutic outcomes
Perform advanced laboratory techniques, including gene expression analysis, protein assays, and imaging
Prepare manuscripts and present findings at scientific meetings
Support the training of undergraduate students in experimental design and data analysis
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field
Publication record demonstrating expertise in relevant experimental techniques
Proficiency in molecular, biochemical, and cell biology methods
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred
Experience with mouse models, particularly knock-in or transgenic lines
Background in retinal biology or neurodegeneration research
Knowledge in cloning and genomics techniques
