Pathology Support Supervisor

Responsibilities

Assist the Manager of Path Support with coordinating and distributing assignments to employees within the department and ensuring shifts are properly staffed
Manage Payroll and staffing for Case Support Specialists, schedule time off and backfills as required
Compile a staff schedule ensuring all tasks and trainings are documented.This responsibilty requires regular updating and monitoring
Plan, assign and direct work
Provide leadership, motivation and training to the Case Support Specialist Team
Directly supervise the Case Support Specialists, responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees
Appraise employee performances, reward and discipline employees as required
Address complaints, troubleshoot delayed cases and workflow concerns
Meet regularly with employees to review their Neo Connect
Assist with writing guidelines and procedures for the department and ensure that guidelines and procedures are current
Serve as a liaison between Pathologists and various departments within the company
Attend department meetings and company in-service training
Prioritize monitor and distribute cases to Pathology
Oversee the Consults that are sent out for external review and interpretation
Provide status updates of cases and troubleshoot cases and work processes as required
Facilitate case information flow to Client Services, Lab Ops and Sales
Act as liaison between Client Services, the Lab and the Pathology Department
Provide assistance as required for creating revised reports for Pathology
Oversee the Report Corretions Queue. Ensure that report corrections are assigned to Pathology in a timley manner based of level of priority
Assist Pathology and Client Services in the resolution of problem cases
Represent Path Support in inter-department meetings
Assess and respond to situations where standard protocol has failed to resolve customer concerns and work to resolve issues with other departments
Participate in Operations Meetings to provide updates to staff on case status
Provide status/productivity reports to senior management as required
Participate in workflow analysis and help to set up procedures for the department in conjunction with other departments as required
Compile data, stats and manage special time related projects
Comply with the Quality Management Policy, Company Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Coordinate execution of special projects as requested
Attend department meetings and company in-service training to enhance knowledge of testing and systems
Prepare pending reports, specimen logs and volume reports on a regular basis
Work productively and efficiently to achieve company and departmental goals
Communicate effectively with all levels of staff
Adhere to and ensure adherence to NeoGenomics Laboratories core values, and safety and compliance policies and procedures
Diligently follow departmental SOP’s for specimen handling and processing

Required

Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in science field preferred. Prior work experience will also be taken into consideration
3+ years of experience as a Case Support Specialist preferred. 1 year as Case Support Specialist II strongly preferred
High degree of proficiency and learning agility as it relates to databases and software applications as well as use of Microsoft Office programs
Good typing and data entry skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including very good writing and proofreading capabilities
Demonstrated problem solving skills with a mindset towards solutions is required
Must be able to work in a team as well as be able to work independently and be self-motivated
Must be able to tolerate stressful situations and demonstrate strong problem-solving ability
Must have knowledge of office administrative procedures, and knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment
Good visual acuity including color perception required for certain departments
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred

Ability to multitask and prioritize with little supervision, preferred
Familiarity with medical terminology, preferred
