DSHS FTAA DIT Quality Assurance Senior Specialist Software Development Engineer In Test

The State of Washington is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their Quality Assurance team within the Department of Social and Health Services. The SDET will be responsible for ensuring quality throughout the software development lifecycle by designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks and scripts, as well as integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Review business and design requirements
Design, develop and maintain test automation frameworks
Create and maintain automated test scripts
Integrate automated tests in CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback
Run and monitor automated test scripts
Track and report quality metrics, identifying opportunities to improve processes and product quality
Identify bugs found during testing and collaborate with other teams for resolution
Evaluate new software tools and technologies
Mentor team members on automation best practices and quality engineering principles

Required

Bachelor's Degree closely aligned with Information Technology and seven years of IT experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in working with test automation methodologies, building automation framework, experience testing relational database management systems, writing automation tests using JAVA, C#, JavaScript, Python, IT analysis, test automation, system maintenance, API testing or troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or databases
OR, Eleven years of professional/practical IT experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in working with test automation methodologies, building automation framework, experience testing relational database management systems, writing automation tests using JAVA, C#, JavaScript, Python, IT analysis, test automation, system maintenance, API testing or troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or databases

Preferred

Test Automation Software Testing Certification
Experience using Selenium
Understanding of the Automated Client Eligibility System (ACES) and its associated applications
